R43 Falkenhütte » Scharnitz
  |   7h30   |   30 km   |   483 m   |   1360 m

The trail leads from the Falken hut over alpine meadowland down to the romantic Ladizalm pasture and the little Ahornboden plateau, where the Hermann von Barth monument stands. The great maple trees and the well invite you to linger a while, but not for too long, because it is still a long way to the Karwendelhaus lodge and down to Scharnitz.

    Mercredi 20 juin
    A Gasse, plusieurs hébergements possibles.

Wednesday, June 20th Starting from Karwendelhaus (due to the closing due to the closure of the Falkenhütte on the R42), we first go down a wide path taken by the mountain bikers to Scharnitz, where André leaves us under a blazing sun. Thierry and I push to Gasse, the climb to Hoher Sattel was a bit trying, but the desert landscape of Sattelklamm is worth it! See also my blog "vivelaretraitesurlaviaalpina.blogspot.com". In Gasse, several possible accommodations.

Very nice step to Angeralm. Then it's a bit long and monotonous. Nice arrival on Scharnitz but with a little rain. We slept at the Frakenhof "(very good), but the pizza in front of the church was somehow, and the" broken down "card reader ...

Spar in Scharnitz is closed. There is a small MPreis at the gasstation which has the basics. In Weidach and Leutach is a good supermarket. It's a bit of a labyrinth between the Birzkapelle and Scharnitz, perhaps easier when you're going down, but I lost the Via Alpina and ended up on a overgrown snowshoe trail.

In Scharnitz I was welcomed in Haus Seibold (nr317), behind the church. €30 B&B. The warden is a one-time hiker himself, and you can ask him anything. Important detail: you will get a soft boiled egg with breakfast!

The tourist office is opened until 5PM, Sundays closed. Have yourself informed about the diversions caused by the building of a tunnel on the Via-Alpina track!

There is a taxi service from the Karwendel Haus to Scharnitz (plm 20km). €105, share price with other passengers. The hut warden will order the taxi for you.

    hallo Bergfreunde,

    Herzlichst
    Robert Lemke

hi mountain friends my partner and I were from northern Germany in June 2012 in the Alps Karwendel. We had a location in Scharnitz, guesthouse Helga to take day trips from there to the Karwendel. Now I read here that is passed on from Karwendelhaus Scharnitz still a possibility of a break in the laughs Alm. I would now suggest that this pasture by the warden Helga Schallhart (haus-helga@privatzimmervermieter.at) is no longer farmed and the lodge is opened thus no longer. Sincerely Robert Lemke

"Haus Helga" is a great B&B on the edge of Scharnitz, coming down from Falkenhuette. The house is marked with signage, easily spotted from the road as you're walking toward town. Helga offers clean, comfortable rooms and is a kind host.

17/6/11 Very long day of hiking. Brunnerhof, across from the church in Scharnitz is a wonderful and quiet place to stay.
